Re: Energia Park
Great to see so many engaged in this discussion about the Leinster sub station. This type of sponsorship will transform the organisations efforts to good energy. The announcements timing has been perfectly conducted to capture the current wave of good feeling in rugby circuits. Hopefully this deal will generate enough positivity to attract neutrals to the ground.

I presume Plug was the spark for this. Should lead to more phases in our play, as we make the hard meters.

Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

I believe it is to be formally named by Scott Faraday, when his AA battery is removed. I believe he has to do this in his capacitance as a jumper (leads).

Apparently so.hugonaut wrote:This is quite a strange deal. I wonder what Energia's angle is? Does somebody at Energia know something about the RDS development that most other people don't know?

Energia simply saw a great opportunity to jump on the Leinster/Ireland bandwagon and acted quickly with a lightning fast strike to prempt any involvement by their competitors.paddyor wrote:Apparently so.hugonaut wrote:This is quite a strange deal. A day later, the rds redevelopment was put on ice.

Re: Energia Park
If you take a click bate headline as gospel. The news paper articles in the text said that they hope to get a government funding decision by the end of April, RDS have capital investment ready and Leinster are bringing a financial contribution by bringing naming rights / sponser. The naming rights deal is done and it is separate to the Donnybrook deal. The government have said there is money in place for such projects and there is a set application procedure.paddyor wrote:A day later, the rds redevelopment was put on ice.
If you think projects start without money in place, ?
If you want to say its on hold until the money is in place you can, but you can also say that the project is ready to KO once the money is in place. The money is 66% in place, 2 parties of the 3 have what they need in place.
