They are. If they lose today v Castres, will be in Pot 3. If they make the SF at worst, will be in Pot 2 minimum.

Very important to win today even for seeding next year. Pot 2 minimum with win, pot 3 with loss

If Exeter beat Sarries in the Prem final, a possible group next year would be:

Leinster
Saracens
Toulouse
Toluon

The latter two of whom are somewhat resurgent, and Sarries will be better in a non-post-Lions year.

One way of looking at it would be that it might be no harm to get one of the best teams - Exeter, Saracens, Racing - out of the way (hopefully) during the pool stage

Why would Glasgow be definitely Pot 2 and not Munster?

The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Better SF loser based on points over the season. Munster can be in Pot 2/3 depending on mini draw before the main draw.

If the loser of the Pro 14 final is put in Pot 2, then Munster will be in Pot 2, otherwise it will be Pot 3.

Toulon as 4th seeds is absolute madness. 'Meritocracy'...

The seeding system for the Champions Cup has to be changed. Surely they can come up with a metric that gauges how well a team performs both domestically and in Europe. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have these kind of scenarios.

Exactly. The current system is a bit daft, throws up some strange seedings - taking into account European Cup progress as well.

How do you do that when Toulouse were in the Challenge Cup last season? The leagues are the most consistent way of managing it really. Although maybe final league position makes more sense, ignoring the knock outs.
