I love how the article celebrates the locals being a dick to someone on a sincere quest.
Charming.

It was the adults I was thinking about.

That's my big take away. "You know way we're both dickheads?"fourthirtythree wrote:I love how the article celebrates the locals being a dick to someone on a sincere quest.

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

I thought it was funny, just a very Irish thing, especially given that tourists tend to think that we're a particularly friendly country when I don't think we are at all. I once asked a stranger in New York for a restaurant recommendation and he spent a good 5 minutes talking to us about it and then walked us to one that was a couple of blocks away...THAT'S friendly!fourthirtythree wrote:I love how the article celebrates the locals being a dick to someone on a sincere quest.

He's a very good writer and the TRK blog is excellent.blockhead wrote: He's a good writer based on that.
I'd take issue with they key sentence in the article though:
"Conor Murray’s medical information is his business and only of interest to him, his doctor and Munster/IRFU."
The idea that it's his business is completely correct. The idea that it's only of interest to him, doc and his employers is totally wrong. Loads of people are interested. People outside Ireland are interested. I'm interested. I don't have any right to know, but I'm still interested. I'm not an "interested party" in the legal sense, I don't "hold an interest" in Conor Murray in the financial sense, but I want to know what the injury is and when he'll be back. I don't have any right to know, but that doesn't stop me being curious about it.

Our backrow is also weaker on the face of it: when you look at the minutes played for us last season by Murphy, a versatile international on some of the form of his career.mildlyinterested wrote:Our 3rd choice 10 is either Noel Reid or Ciaran Frawley, much weaker there too IMO.TrapperChamonix wrote:But thats exactly what I am arguing And lets be clear Sexton is just marking Nuciforas card and hes right to do so.mildlyinterested wrote:
Well Sexton clearly thinks we are weaker and it's hard to argue we aren't, especially at 12.
I get the 12 argument and its clear that there is a big step down from Nacewa to Toomane. But that was going to happen anyway.
We are also weaker at fullback, given that is where Carbery played for us essentially.
Where's the quote from? I'm delighted to see as important a player as Sexton flagging this up publicly.
Re: Jonathan Sexton - Leinster Legend & Captain
Ross Moriarty
Some may say it was harsh, some may say it was fair, but if Johnny did that against me in that game I know for a fact he would not have had anything happen to him. It's nice to see little players running around making a fool of big players but when a big player gets hold of a smaller one there's always a big scene.
Most players will have had something happen to them if they hit Johnny Sexton off the ball because obviously he has a big pull in the game these days which is quite sad.

I think of that incident every single time I see Moriarty play. One of the worst things I've ever seen on a pitch.

Does mouthing off like that after the event get taken into consideration, the next time he gets cited? If it doesn't, it should.blockhead wrote:Ross MoriartySome may say it was harsh, some may say it was fair, but if Johnny did that against me in that game I know for a fact he would not have had anything happen to him. Wouldnt pay too much attention to him. Moriarty makes a disgrace of himself on a regular basis. First time I saw him play was against Ireland U20s where he got a straight red card for a dirty tip tackle when playing for England. Last time was him getting a red for Wales against Argentina.
