Munster team for Exeter.
15. Mike Haley
14. Andrew Conway
13. Dan Goggin
12. Rory Scannell
11. Keith Earls
10. Joey Carbery
9. Duncan Williams

1. Dave Kilcoyne
2. Niall Scannell
3. Stephen Archer
4. Jean Kleyn
5. Tadhg Beirne
6. Peter O’Mahony (captain)
7. Chris Cloete
8. CJ Stander.

Replacements:

16. Rhys Marshall
17. James Cronin
18. John Ryan
19. Billy Holland
20. Tommy O’Donnell
21. Neil Cronin
22. JJ Hanrahan
23. Sammy Arnold.

Apart from Earls and Conway, that is a callow looking backline. Tough to see them get more than a LBP but ye never know. Best of luck.

Haley and Scannell are experienced enough at this stage.

Are Exeter that good? I know they're an efficient, well run team with few weaknesses but I wouldn't put them up with Saracens. Saracens are similarly well run but with a lot more talent.

O’Mahony still binding illegally. Not spotted by Garces thus far.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

How is it not spotted?

Williams is not good enough for this level.

BT are calling it, seems an odd tactic to keep at it can't see any huge benefit as Exeter seem to be slightly on top in scrum unless the front row us that bad

Saw someone say that only props and second rows have to bind properly. Is there a loophole for flankers?

It’s very clear in the rules and unbelievable that 2 weeks in a row in a high profile match that the illegal binding was allowed Below is from The Rules

The players in the scrum bind in the following way:
The props bind to the hooker.
The hooker binds with both arms. This can be either over or under the arms of the props.
The locks bind with the props immediately in front of them and with each other.
All other players in the scrum bind on a lock’s body with at least one arm.
Sanction: Penalty.

At one scrum today I spotted both POM and Cloete binding illegally. According to Murray Kinsella POM's been doing it at every scrum so far this season and was even doing it occasionally last season. Given that it was mentioned during BT's coverage this afternoon it's surely only a matter of time before the match officials pick up on it.

Well done to Munster.
A draw away is a decent result.

Massive result for Munster. They defended well in the 2nd half and pinned Exeter into their own 22 for most of it.
2 points, from what is on paper, their hardest game.
Maybe they are getting better. Add Murray, Earls and Farrell in there and they could get to the semi again.

I suppose it’s only fair that Munster can have their own rules

Back in the far distant past when I was coaching underage I was often asked by young players @ what is illegal@ and the answer was always the same whatever the referee says. In other words do what you need to do until you are told it is illegal and no one in charge has told Peter O'Mahoney that he is binding illegally YET
