Of course they do.johng wrote:People watch ads?
But not necessarily because they're interested in the product.
My favourite ads are the lotto ads backed by the Elvis song "If I Can Dream".
I don't buy lotto tickets I just like the song.
That's just one example.

Remember the "For mash get smash" ads? Gas, but we always had the real thing.Oldschool wrote:Of course they do.johng wrote:People watch ads?

You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

I still don't maybe because I lose attention half way through it . I thought it was an Orangutan or maybe that's a different ad

The zoo?

Which one?LeRouxIsPHat wrote:The zoo?
I think Electric Ireland had an ape in one of it's ads.
Cadbury with a Phil Collins song also had an ape.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Ryanair.
Normally I'd be a fan.
Cheap even with bag charges however lately I think they're having a bit of a p!ss take.
However I'm wondering are they at a new squeeze.
The temperature in the plane always seems to be uncomfortably warm and requests to have it reduced seem to have no effect.
Either -
1. The AC systems on dodgy (on their newest planes too).
2. They're trying to get people to buy more drinks (with ice).
3. The cockpit crew are feeling cold and instead of wearing Warner clothing are jacking up the temperature setting.
4. ???

High altitude air is extremely dry, EDITED TO REMOVE INCORRECT INFORMATION, read someone better informed if you are interested!

Their air is very dry, that's for sure. But why so warm?fourthirtythree wrote:High altitude air is extremely dry, you can tell how much air they are taking on by the humidity of the cabin atmosphere. Recirculated air is humid and full of really shitty germs.
It's also cheaper and saves fuel.

No idea. I had read this column by Patrick Smith before but obviously managed to completely forget everything from it. It's worth a read and contradicts what I had said above.

So the heat could actually be because they're running the air conditioning units that cool the hot compressed air at a lower cooling rate to save on electricity, to save on fuel.

Re: Friday's rant
Could be wrong on this but given that it's Ryanair they probably keep the air warm so that you spend more on drinks and so that they can use the sweat you leave on the seat to wash away stains instead of having to spend money cleaning it.
