Rhys training with the squad so looks like he'll definitely be involved. A Byrne and Jack McG too.

I'm guessing Toner's injury means Lowe sits out Ulster. Fardy and Ryan together with JGP at 21. Although, to be honest, Ross Malony us having a good season. I'd have no issue with him in the row. Fardy is a better option. So not sure how I'd divide up the game time between them now

Toner wouldnt be available for us regardless so no impact really, although I’d say they will go for Fardo for this one anyway.

Correct and right. I attached too much weight to this being the Zebre thread.

For Zebre it might be a good idea to play Fardy and Lowe. Gives a chance at the junior scrumhalves and keeps the others in action.

I don't disagree. But with Ferg, Adam Byrne, Dk and Welsh newspaper all available before we even look at the academy we are not short of back 3.

I agree. We have a couple of matches in February and then a couple of matches in March before the Ulster QF. We're miles out ahead in the conference. I'd give the February starts to Hughie O'Sullivan, then the March starts to JGP. We're pretty skinny at scrum-half and if we can take JGP out of the fray for a while, we should.

Sorry. I should have been clearer. I meant that with Toner's injury, how would they divide game time between JGP, Fardy and Lowe given Lowe - I presume - is the one who'll miss out on the QF. Do we play him often and rotate Park and Fardy? I like the idea of playing a lot of the younger 9s but we have to be careful with Fardy, too. I don't know if it's the case, but James Ryan looks a bit stretched now. He will get a rest for Italy and there'll be a week off after that, but then it's pretty much full blast through to the quarter final.

I'd hope Ryan will get rested for Italy game. But maybe i'm being delusional.

Might depend on the fitness of Beirne and Henderson

Seriously, they could start Roux and Dillane with me on the bench for Italy and Ireland will be okay.

Penny is with the Ireland U20s and unlikely to be released.

IRFU policy is that Pro14 takes precedence over u20s

Except when it isn't.
This would be a match, given Leinster's position in the table, where that quite sensible policy might be waived.

+1

We don't really need him for this, so would make make more sense to leave him where he is.

We sort of do need him though, unless we're going to play Rhys at 7.

It would be a strange one to not release an U20 player to start a Pro14 game on a 6N down week, never mind a week when we both have games.

RR has played 4.5, 6, 7 and 8.
Likely back row based on Stu's name checking.
Deegans, Ruddock and Doris.
