Hithertofor Joe selected Roux ahead of Dillane primarily it seems for his scrummaging.
As things stand Ryan and Toner would start.
Will Joe go with Dillane for high tempo athlethism over brute force in Roux.
It will be educational to see what answer Joe comes up with.
Was thinking the same thing. Going to be interesting.

Edit: This might actually hurt Connacht too having both Roux and Dillane in camp for the next three weeks at least.

Last season Jones was looking poor, this year we are a little off our best, but injuries are severe.

Still is worrying in its own way that we might have peaked too soon. We also dont have the depth we thought we had.

Roux has stepped up very well in departments. Very underrated player.

On the depth piece I think it's actually better than we ever thought, look at how far down the lock options we've gone, front row (hooker aside) has options (granted in Healy and Furlong we've outstanding talent as starters), plenty of midfield options even with injuries, halfbacks yes again we've two of the best in the game but the options just below are all quality and there are multiples, wing has numerous options, and then fullback clearly it's Kearney and after that well jury is out but God we've got to be the envy of a lot of unions.

We had that depth at lock before. Cullen, Casey, O'Kelly, O'Driscoll, O'Connell, O'Callaghan, Toner, Henderson.

Yep except Cullen, Casey and Toner were somewhat underused. Toner really has only gotten backing since Joe IMO.

I don't think we had all of those available at the same time. Big Mal was almost old enough to vote when Henderson was born

Mick (he can run a lineout) O'Driscoll would constitute scraping the barrel rather than depth imho.

Nonsense Mick O'Driscoll was a fine player who had a great career. If Ross Molony has the career he had I think he'll be happy.

Jaysus. Don't go there with OS on Micko.
Micko obviously upset his missus at some stage. He has been accused of everything including being several inches shorter than his actual height.

6' 3" and absolutely no doubt about it regardless of any reports to the contrary.
I doubt he ever made 17st either.
If Eos/kidney hadn't been Ireland coach he'd never been capped.
He was played at no. 6 when at Perpignan.

The only one spouting nonsense is you.
You should know better given the province he played for and the Ireland coach at the time.
Hint, he played for Cork Con.
