Assuming Porter goes to the WC.

He'll be at worst third choice (and probably second choice) in all likelihood, the chances of him not making the plane are miniscule.

If Marty Moore continues at the same pace of progress as he has shown in the past 6 months.

Plenty to like there I think. I'd say even mildly will have a skip in his step today with RK making his debut

Ferg back and the much anticipated debut of Kelleher the younger. Lots to like there, hopefully Dunne gets a proper run out at the third time of asking.

Actually, just looking at the team again, no Frawley at all in the 23 is a bit of a surprise I think

Yeah but no harm in giving Daly a run at 15 either. Frawley would have been my choice but it'd be great if Daly looks solid there and can be an option for bigger games. Maybe he's injured but I struggle to see Kelly breaking through at this stage.

Same gripe as last week with the backrow but sure I suppose we've no choice again.

Really hope Kelleher nails his darts, never liked the look of his throws but he's definitely got everything else. Plenty of targets for him there too.

Pity Vakh isn't benching.

Jack Kelly is with Ireland 7's team in Italy, as is Michael Silvester and Hugo Keenan.

Kelleher will be the 54th senior player this season. Of the senior squad, I think only Will Connors is yet to play.

8 of the 23, 8 of the 19 Irish-born, half the pack, two thirds of the back-row and the Captain are all ex-Michael's.

Not bad when the two 9s plus Dan Leavy (seen heading to lunch, on his own two feet mind, with Ringer in Rock today) are injured and Scott P is with the 20s with Harry Byrne, Jack Kelly is with the 7s and The Big Cheese is on Ireland duty while the returning Kelleher Snr is lining out for Connacht. Poor Dowling & Baird are the only Swordsmen without an excuse!

Decent output across a 10 year spread from Reid (2008) to Penny/Baird (2018). 17 of the 18 are drawn from the 7 yr period between 2011 (McGrath) to 2018.

Now if we could just win a few more schools cups I could really get properly behind them!

Jaysus, if you were anymore behind them you'd need consent.

Good lad. At least you know you are alive. Amazing achievements nonetheless wouldn't you say?

I cracked a smile, but nothing else, at that one.
