Appears to have overtaken Carlo Canna (who is playing for Zebre in Belfast on Saturday night) for the 22 shirt.

And so it's Jack Carty who, if he plays on Sunday, becomes the 100th different player selected by Joe and the 55th new cap.

Also, on the occasion of his 68th cap Sean Cronin gets his first ever start for Ireland!

Really???!!! - first ever ever? Or first 6N start? Either way, that's crazy
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Oops - obviously should have been first 6 Nations start. That’s what I get for trying to type while also charging out of the office to get ready for the match tonight.

Yep Rory has played in 60 of the last 61 Six Nations games. Some player, some captain.

Good performance from Italy. Ireland look a little soft and disorganized but the Italians are playing really well and they aren't making the errors that usually kill them. Well worth their lead.

The officials are missing some pretty big calls. Rob should have been carded for that block on the Italian 9 (having a class game he is), the push on Earls was one thing (he kinda deserved it, but it was so obvious to ignore). Also was there not a knock-on from an Italian before that final try? Maybe it came off foot, but I'm surprised no one looked at that either.

Should be an interesting second half. Big one for Cronin and Roux in thew lineout.

No guile in midfield. Sexton has no support from a second playmaker and is getting creamed.

We are missing Ringtose and Henshaw.

In our half on our possession RK should step into the line as a second receiver for clearances.

f%~k me that was awful.

Cronin had an absolute mare. Felt sorry for him coming off. Calling didn't help either.

Murray atrocious again. So ponderous.

Sexton poor and overly narky as usual.

Dillane played well but not sure he has the nuts and bolts to be a test second row still.

Our backplay is so poor. Not sure what is going on there. Really missing Ringrose though.
