Re: Leinster v Southern Kings Fri 7.55 Eir
Match Preview
Well that wasn't the normal game against Italian opposition!
After 20 minutes it was business as usual. Leinster were cruising with a 21 point lead and the watching fans' only fear was trying to retain interest in another facile romp. However, by half-time Leinster's lead had been reduced to two points as Zebre took advantage of some lax defending to score three tries.
Leinster struck back but so did Zebre and with ten minutes to go Leinster were only four points ahead and facing a goal-line stand to keep Zebre from taking the lead. They survived and got back up the field to clinch the match with two more tries but it was a second poor performance in a row after the Scarlets match.

Re: Leinster v Southern Kings Fri 7.55 Eir
Can't beleive it's Kelleher's first game. It feels he's being around forever. Hope he does well. As for the team I'm a little worried it's a bit fallow. I know it's the Southern Kings but would have liked to have seen at least one more experienced head in the pack at least.
Re: Leinster v Southern Kings Fri 7.55 Eir
Kelleher hasn't been around long, he's just been on the radar for longer.
He turned 21 last month and played for the U20s in the summer. Normally he'd be 1st year academy.

Bit of a strange perception - he's halfway through Year 2 of the Academy [source: https://www.leinsterrugby.ie/max-deegan ... announced/ ].sunshiner1 wrote:Can't beleive it's Kelleher's first game. Frawley was the first of that intake to make his senior debut last season [17/02/18 vs Scarlets], then Gavin Mullin [07/04/18 vs Zebre], then Doris [28/04/18 @ Connacht]. This season Hughie O'Sullivan followed [15/09/18 @ Dragons], then Oisin Dowling [05/01/19 vs Ulster] and Kelleher will be the sixth from that class.

Kelleher was playing 20's as a under-19 and in terms of hooker prospects has been on the scene for awhile, it would have been the preseason in 2017 when he appeared for the senior team and wasn't out of place.

Good for him
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick
Re: Leinster v Southern Kings Fri 7.55 Eir
Nothing against Michael Bent at all but am looking forward to that after Vakh A's last try which oddly enough didn't make it onto one set of match highlights.mildlyinterested wrote:Bent out.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

So whenever the worst team in the league want a try it appears all they have to do is go up and get one.

Conor O'Brien really looking a class apart.
Nice offload from Kelleher to Ed Byrne for that try.

COB is showing a bit of everything tonight, a barnstorming run, silky hands and even a big kick. Ed Byrne obviously doing well toomildlyinterested wrote:Conor O'Brien really looking a class apart.
