Re: Leinster A 18-19
some pretty poor stuff this half.
Re: Leinster A 18-19
Leinster must have improved a lot. I've only seen the last 10 mins or so, and all I've seen are Leinster running at Munster, who are conceding loads of pens. Two tries for Leinster too, 21-15 now to Munster.
Dont Panic!

I like the look of Patterson at 9 and Hawkshaw looked very good when he moved into 10.
Never argue with an idiot. Someone looking on may not be able tell the difference

Re: Leinster A 18-19
Key factor for me was Leinster were a collection of players who had not played as a team together - ever. Probably not even on a training pitch given the last fortnight of injuries at senior level. Basics improved during game but in general they were just trying to mark their oppositie number rather than playing together.mildlyinterested wrote:26-22 to Munster, sloppy game but it was a young leinster side.
A 'misnomer' for an 'A Team' fixture and terribly timed. Should have been played before the Senior match a fortnight ago, possibly in Dooradoyle. Crazy timing by both Provinces or the IRFU. A sop to AIL Clubs, but served nobody's purposes.

Re: Leinster A 18-19
Leinster A will play 2 games in US in April:
Wednesday, April 10:
Munster A v Leinster A, Union Point Sports Complex
Sunday, April 14:
Free Jacks v Leinster A, Harvard Mignone Field
Interested what sort of squad travels, i'd wager it will be light on experience.

Interesting. I suppose it was someone on their side who led it.mildlyinterested wrote:Leinster A will play 2 games in US in April:

The schedule changes resulting from the B&I Cup left a big gap. A tour makes sense if there's travel funding.

Clubs up in arms about this, academy and some sub-academy players being pulled for week 17 and 18 of the AIL for this trip.

It's a a bit ironic that clubs that had no involvement in producing the players are up in arms because the players main employer wants them to work for them for a couple of weeks.mildlyinterested wrote:Clubs up in arms about this, academy and some sub-academy players being pulled for week 17 and 18 of the AIL for this trip.

Look out Itchy, he's Irish
Re: Leinster A 18-19
meh, clubs have skin in the game and if they didn't play a valuable developmental role then they wouldn't get those players at all.
They knew what the were getting but then they got hit with something else. It hurts them at an important part of the season: that hurts their brand and fans.
Maybe the tour is the right move, but it's done some damage elsewhere.

No matter where they came from, they've 'taken the shilling' and had a huge investment made in them which could be extremely valuable to them if they succeed. Clubs need to cop on and realise that this is business, not an old boys club.

Re: Leinster A 18-19
Selection of the "A" Team to travel to the US could really impinge on player availability for last two rounds of AIL. That could impact on teams such as TCD, UCD & L'downe to mention just three. Given that the 'Colours' game is in that schedule, this really is a major impact for the individuals who may be involved - many of whom may also have Exam challenges.
All in all, it's hard to see that this won't cause a fairly major disruption.

Yep, it will be interesting to see who does or does not go.
Given recent results i'd back an u20 side to beat the Free Jacks, of course Munster A probably will be packed full of pro 14 players.

Leinster are sometimes pretty poor at announcing that kind of stuff.D4surfer wrote:https://www.limerickleader.ie/news/spor ... a-cup.html

It might be a chance for Connors to get back on the horse.
