The contingency for England v France was 14 miles away. Couldn't make it up .

Any move of a stadium would have to immediately mean being behind closed doors. How do you figure out which of the 72k tickets sold for yokohama are valid for the 45k Toyota or 40k oita stadium. All with a few days notice. With fans trying to move cities they hadn't planned on doing. When the country is cancelling trains and telling people to stay indoors.

A match behind closed doors is better for the sporting integrity of the sport than none at all. Football, an innately more corrupt and chaotic game can manage these situations. Why can't World Rugby?heno wrote:Any move of a stadium would have to immediately mean being behind closed doors. This. Play the match. the fans get f*cked either way, but this way at least the games get played. As it is, the tournament is broken. Some favourites have an extra break giving them a nice advantage over other teams. Other less favourites are out of the tournament altogether having not been allowed play scheduled games. Its a joke.FLIP wrote:A match behind closed doors is better for the sporting integrity of the sport than none at all. Football, an innately more corrupt and chaotic game can manage these situations. Re: RWC 2019
The response about cancelling games due to fan safety is really disingenuous when you consider they could just move the games and play them behind closed doors.

Yep which is why I understand why they can't "just" move games.heno wrote:Any move of a stadium would have to immediately mean being behind closed doors. World Rugby will never choose to play games in an empty stadium.
If NZ, Eng or France needed points you can guarantee a way would be found to get the games played.

And if Japan needed the points tomorrow to qualify for the QFs then you can be sure it would be played, somehow, someway.

Cancelled because an evacuation order is still in place. Surely under those circumstances there was never any real prosect of it going ahead? Why wait until now to cancel??blockhead wrote:Namibia v Canada cancelled.

Re: RWC 2019
i hope they destroy them cause it would be in our interest. It ain't their fault that World Rugby is making an arse of it.

Re: RWC 2019
Waiting to see if the Scotland game goes ahead has probably been the most exciting part of the World Cup so far

Re: RWC 2019
Although there've been lots of handling errors, Tonga and USA both look like Tier 2 Nations who only need more competition (and full player availability) to graduate to the status of real competition.
IMO, I would now include Fiji, Japan, Tonga, USA and possibly Samoa in that category with Georgia, and Uruguay close behind. Canada and Namibia have fallen back. Russia have physique but not enough else.

Japan vs Scotland was awesome. Started the game hoping for a scotland win, about 3 mins in i was shouting for Japan. Well done to them.
