One of Belvedere’s best player was a fourth year( the centre and place kicker Jed Tormey) and the team was full of fifth years and Phil Warihiko is coming back next year so plenty of positives for this team in the future...was just a really poor sixth year group and could of won if they made better decisions when they had penalties and back chat in the end cost them the gamemildlyinterested wrote:Knock defeat Belvo 15-14 and reach SCT semi final
Great to see a sleeping Giant like Castleknock get though to the semis

Michaels Gonzaga today.. Could be closer than many expect but hard to see michaels losing.
Interested to see more of Wilson on the wing for Zaga and can Michaels stars play upto expectations.

Shame Simon Murphy missed out on a SCT campaign due to injury.

Holy Ghost Priests prayers, for high winds, snow, sleet, hailstones (and an 8 man game) have been answered.....mildlyinterested wrote:Michaels Gonzaga today.. Could be closer than many expect but hard to see michaels losing.

Not sure a forwards orientated game favors zaga..
Re: Schools Rugby 2019-2020
They're Jesuits. Different brand of priests.
Re: Schools Rugby 2019-2020
14 3 to Moichaels at HT.
They are monsters. The scrum just goes 1.5M every time. 2 huge props. Jack Boyle and the aptly named tight head James Power.

34 3 FT
Front rowers are all excellent, Boyle immense.

It's a serious front row ok. Lee Barron is very mobile. Scored off a maul at one stage.

If Scott Penny got academy straight from school...that means Jack Boyle definitely is

Penny was u19 out of school. Boyle will be u18.Pilotman123 wrote:If Scott Penny got academy straight from school...that means Jack Boyle definitely is
Been awhile since an u18 went straight in. But couldn't rule it out. Boyle turns 18 in April/May time IIRC
Re: Schools Rugby 2019-2020
I don't know the player at all but surely the only reason to give an U-18 a place in the full academy is if some other team is trying to poach him?
Was Billy Dardis the last U-18 player brought straight into the academy?

How do you not know who Jack Boyle is? He’s been playing Senior Cup since 2018cormac wrote:I don't know the player at all but surely the only reason to give an U-18 a place in the full academy is if some other team is trying to poach him?

Because I haven't been to a Schools Cup Match in over 10 years and don't have access to the tv station that shows them these days.Pilotman123 wrote:How do you not know who Jack Boyle is? Leinster Rugby put them on the YouTube channel now and you should buy Premier Sports, it’s the best competition in the world (if you’re a past pupil from one of the schools) there’s nothing else like itcormac wrote:Because I haven't been to a Schools Cup Match in over 10 years and don't have access to the tv station that shows them these days.Pilotman123 wrote:How do you not know who Jack Boyle is? Astonishing performance from Michaels .... especially the first 50. They absolutely battered Zaga..... I’m not sure the green machine got into the Michaels 22 more than once?
Was talking to Bernard Jackman afterward and he reckons this is the best schools side he’s seen in his time covering the SCT
Front row all exceptional .... Boyle is the closest thing to Cian Healy I’ve seen in 15 years
Will Hickey is a very good player ..... dominant on both sides of the ball
Looks like Boyle, Hickey, Barron and Cosgrave are destined for the academy
O’Kelly the outside centre is impressive too and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on the Leinster radar as well
