Wonder is that a nod to Salanoa to get him to stay? Huge potential but a lot of moulding to be done on him!
Aungier has a lot of improving to do IMO. He's mobile but rarely seems to be the carrier he was in school and the odd time for the 20's. I do think he has the ability to impose himself more, but he just doesn't do it. Might be an odd comparison but he reminds me a bit of Brendan Macken in prop form. His scrummaging has always been poor. When he was in school he relied on power rather technique but he's not the kind of physical freak who can keep that going through the ranks. I've seen him at club level a few times as well and always seemed to struggle.

For me, Salanoa showed far more in his two brief cameos than Aungier has in ages. His scrummaging technique isn't great either but he is the type of freak to get away with it because of his power. Really hope that the Connacht rumours aren't true, he has great potential and think the role he has right now really suits his development. Himself and Clarkson (if he ever goes for less than 80 minutes) could dovetail really nicely in the league.

Match Preview

Leinster are back after a four week mid-season break.

In their last game Leinster ground out another manky win in Italy to finish as top seeds in Europe. Their reward is a quarter-final against the Saracrooks in what will be their only meaningful game of the season as they've already been relegated from the Premiership.

The weather in Ballsbridge is brutal. Very windy and squally showers. This is one to just get through.

I wonder if this would be going ahead if we weren't playing a team from SA? The weather in SoCoDu really is horrific right now.

Bizarre decision there. Cheetahs have a knock-on advantage, it lasts an unusually long time, he calls “advantage over”, Cheetahs immediately spill it forward, and he says we’ll go back to the Leonster knock-on citing “common sense”. What the f%~k??

Well done the back row: Deegan set the move up; Connors converts.

We're playing well here, considering the conditions.
