Edit

Just realised you didn't get my response before, and despite doing me a favour here it stands!

Datta: what have we given?
My friend, blood shaking my heart
The awful daring of a moment's surrender
Which an age of prudence can never retract

Wasps and Leicester currently doing battle in lovely Coventry on BT.

Tigers ahead 28-25 with 50 mins gone despite being a man down.

It's not really, it's about urban decay in all of Britain's cities, in particular Liverpool and Glasgow. The Specials were on tour when the song was written and witnessed particular incidences of decay, violence and poverty in both cities and the Brixton riots were ongoing as the lyrics were being finalised and the song recorded.

For sure. A massive hit at the time, it very much summed up the zeitgeist of the early-Thatcher-era in Blighty.
